
The museum threw open its doors yesterday, ending a two-year closure used to revamp the 1939 building that houses more than 50,000 maritime, military and naval artifacts - from the iconic flag crying "Don't give up the ship" to the spur worn by John Wilkes Booth the night he shot Abraham Lincoln.
